Levi is ONE!

wasn't I just writing the post about your birth, little man?

a quick update on what you are up to currently. e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. what are you not up to, might be the better question. you are my little get-into-things boy. you are hot on my trail as soon as I move anywhere in the house, and wherever we spend more than a second, you are bound to find things to explore and investigate. the bathtub, toilet paper rolls (still.), reachable things in the pantry, etc. you find the most random items and carry them with you around the house, so proud of your gatherings.

you are a walking champ. still with the cute sort-of off-balance looking gait, but you've got it, for sure. you can now stand yourself up in the middle of the room and begin walking.

you eat well, sleep well, play well. you are pleasant and cuddly as always, and busy and curious at the same time. you and your brother are learning how to play together, since he is into building and putting together and you are, let's just say, NOT. it's an adjustment, but you two are super cute when the playing thing works out.

your top teeth are coming in (three more teeth, all at once, making a grand total of five) and you are so cute with them! more on the menu for you, perhaps? I don't know what's left, since you just about eat anything. you quickly let me know when you're not interested in what's for dinner-- you sweep your hands across your tray. not cool. we're working on that one.

you make lots of babbling noises and I am almost positive "mama" is your first word. but banana is a close second as you say "na-na" over and over from your chair at the table. you clap your hands, especially when I start saying pat-a-cake or singing a song. you are pointing at lots of things and making noises as if trying to say the word. the other day you even "read" a book to me, by pointing to all the pictures you saw and saying something at the same time. you give giant open-mouth kisses and they are so sweet! you play peek-a-boo and are becoming more clever with your face-hiding objects.

you have been a little clingy lately (my little koala bear), but you adjust well when handed over to church nursery workers, and other people. i'm sure all the transition with travel over the past few months has made you a little more wanting to be close to comfort.

you are comfortably wearing your 18-month clothing and were a little over 26 pounds at the doctor last week. this means you have only gained 4 pounds in the last 6 months, attributed, no doubt, to your mobility! you still breastfeed in the morning and at night, but are probably getting close to ready for official weaning-- mama is still deciding about that one!

your first year has been such a sweet one. you truly are a perfect addition to our family and we are incredibly thankful that God gave you to us!
