another month flies by miscellany...
I like February. February has been good.
my husband came home. that was awesome. he had some time off from work. that was really cool. he did get the stomach bug twice which was NOT cool, but, bless his heart, it didn't keep him down long.
my baby boy turned ONE this month. that was a little bit sad, but really special, too.
my oldest is learning to go potty by himself (which doesn't really mean by himself, but you know, no diapers. i'm not gonna lie, I kind like the diapers. just sayin'. but, the training has gone well and I am super proud of my big little boy!).
I have enjoyed being back home this month and feeling like i'm getting things in order (since February has been the new January for us cross-country travelers). i'm having the strange second trimester urge to purge "nesting" which hopefully will turn into action since I don't plan on getting a lot accomplished once august and our new baby arrive!
it's crazy how the day, week, or month will end and you look back wondering, what did we do? I mean, you know a lot happened, but you can't really remember a lot of the details. I think that is not uncommon with little ones. the days are a flurry of activity-- playing with, reading to, feeding, and loving on your babies. by the end of the day, if there is any energy or sanity remaining, you use it up to clean the kitchen and perhaps blog. (and if you're fortunate enough to have your husband not on a work trip, you get to use some of that time for spending with your sweetie). I love our boys. as a friend reminded me this evening, you don't get a do-over. yes, every day is new and the mercies that come with it. but there will never be another February two-thousand-thirteen. so make the most of it, mama. let the little ones crawl all over, giving you kisses and tickles. sit down and read the book for the thousandth time. hold them in your lap while you watch the movie and talk about the things you see. laugh and play and sing. it's so much more fun. and the memories will last far longer than the clean kitchen would have.
