what am i saying?
i'll tell you what, parenthood has all kinds of surprises up its sleeves. one of those fun and dependably entertaining surprises are the words that come out of my mouth while spending time with my little ones. my husband and i are constantly amazed at what we find ourselves telling ethan. things like...
"Don't eat the table, please."
"Get your head out of the cabinet, Ethan."
"Don't put your brother under the couch!"
"No, you may not have any more medicine."
"Don't color on Levi's face!"
"We don't wear our shoes to bed. You have to take them off."
"Please don't lick the table. That's weird."
"Stop chewing on the furniture."
"Get your hand out of the back of your diaper. Gross!"
"No, you can't brush your teeth right now. We already brushed them tonight."
"I'm sorry, only mommy can clean the potty. It's yucky. Want to clean the bathtub?"
these little ones keep us laughing, which is a glimpse of grace on days that challenge your socks off as a parent. it is important, and necessary, to keep the laughter rolling. i think kids need to know that the joy we say they are to us truly causes a joyful response sometimes. i love laughing. laughing is fun. it's healthy. it's in the Bible, so you know it's a good idea.
any crazy things you find yourselves saying to your kiddos?

This is such a fun post, loved it!! :) I am always having the funniest conversations with my five year old, and it's usually when I'm driving down the road with no way of writing it down. Kids are so fun, and I love the way they see things. It can be so refreshing! ;) Stopping by from Friday Favorite Things, have a blessed day!!
