levi {eight months}
happy eight months, Levi!
turning eight months seemed to come much quicker with our second baby! another big month for Levi, our little guy is on the move! he spent some time contemplating the crawling phase, while perfecting his downward dog pose, his rocking on hands and knees motion, and face-planting in the carpet many-a-time! then, everything clicked and off he went. he seems quite pleased with himself to be able to approach his big brother, crawl on top of mommy and daddy for snuggles and play, and get any toy he sets his mind on!
another big change for this eighth month is the move to his crib! poor boy, he has spent his entire life up to this point sleeping in a pack-n-play! (the plan was/is to put the boys together in a room-- we will still do this, just not as quickly as we had planned. levi's big brother still occasionally wakes in the night for a quick cuddle and back into bed and this mama is not about to compromise our baby's excellent sleeping patterns--i.e. all night!). anyways, levi is now in his crib in his own room and i think he is enjoying the newfound freedom to move around and be a little more comfortable! levi takes two solid naps a day, and an occasional third nap in the evening. i am so thankful for my good sleeper!
Levi is still doing great with solid foods and has mastered his pincer grasp. he loves to pick up cheerios, puffs, goldfish crackers, and peanut butter crackers. he will even eat bits of banana and fruit bars. he is still comfortable in his 12-month clothing and size 4 diapers. i actually took him to the doctor the day after his eight-month birthday and he weighed in at 23 pounds! still a chunk, but definitely slowing down the pace on weight gain now that he's mobile!
Levi is more full of smiles than any baby i know! when we meet someone, he will give his sweet smile, then quickly bury his head on my shoulder. even with his newfound mobility, he is my little snuggler and loves to be around his family. especially his big brother. no matter what he's doing, he keeps an eye on what big brother is up to and will often crawl over to join in. thankfully, ethan adores his little brother, too, and they already play together so well, rolling around and giving hugs and kisses!
