so long, thirty!

today is my last day of being only thirty. tomorrow, the thirty-something begins.

so far, a mere 364 days into it, being thirty has been an adventure, mostly fun, and exactly where i would want to be in life.

here are THIRTY reflections on what the past year has brought and taught (in no particular order):

1. my handsome, precious Levi became a part of our family.
2. celebrated 23 years of walking with Jesus!
3. said goodbye to family and friends for the first time as a military wife.
4. moved cross-country.
5. began a new life in a new place.
6. went through the selling-a-house process (and although i had little to do with the entire process, i felt very grown-up!)
7. celebrated being the mrs. of an amazing man for four years!
8. if you let life hold you back, you'll never _______! (you can fill in the blank)
9. being a mom is a wonderful gift, an incredible responsibility, and not for wimps!
10. moving cross-country makes me want to get rid of all of our stuff and start over.
11. USE said stuff! it's not just there to look pretty or clutter up my house and storage areas.
12. went through the house-hunting process and picked our first house together as husband and wife!
13. still discovering the limits of what i can accomplish as a wife, mom, human.
14. it is better to give than to receive.
15. baby spit-up, drool, pee, and poop are just part of life. it's no big deal.
16. skinny jeans are really fun.
17. Jesus answers big prayers and little prayers.
18. showing your for-sale house with a toddler and a newborn isn't very much fun.
19. cuddling with my sweet boys (all three of them) is one of my absolute favorite things to do.
20. i love being a homemaker and staying home with our boys.
21. watching your baby grow and change and learn new things is just as exciting the second time around.
22. the Word of God is complete Truth, the only Truth, and absolute Truth.
23. moving away from family and friends makes you appreciate these blessings even more.
24. everybody has a story. and what we can see is only part of it.
25. to have friends, you must first show yourself friendly.
26. i love the iPhone.
27. i hate the iPhone.
28. Jesus doesn't just make us better versions of ourselves; He changes us.
29. it is really fun to do things and experience life; it is way cooler to do this with your kids!
30. i appreciate my husband more every day.

so, there's a start as i turn one year older and begin another year of life! here's to thirty-ONE!
