singing in the rain

well, pacific northwest, you haven't let us down. this "rainy season" we have heard so much about has officially begun.

and, when life gives you lemons (err, uh, raindrops), you just gotta make some lemonade (or find the rainbow, i guess)!

as me and my boys spent the afternoon at target then a quick trip into the grocery, i reflected on this new season. my deep musings included...

~i may go back to wearing waterproof mascara. in fact, it's a must.

~i might get away with never fixing my hair ever again. i mean, what's the point?! what a relief this will be, ha! (please note sarcasm).

~i think drive-thru shopping might be the new wave of the future. in general, but especially in a place where getting your little ones in and out of the car is a pain in the booty. although, the puddles do make for instant toddler entertainment while i get the baby out of the car.

~we really need a minivan. i remembered way too late (as in, we were already at the store) that i left the stroller in the back of the truck after going to the gym today. shoot. somehow, i miraculously crammed the stroller into the front seat of our truck so it wouldn't get soaking wet while we ran our errands. (don't worry, babe, if you're reading this. the stroller is fine. it was tempting to break it in order to make it fit, but i was careful.). in case anyone is wondering, it was our single stroller and i wanted both kiddos contained in order to make the shopping trip more enjoyable.

~i'm so thankful that ethan thinks it is way cool to wear his raincoat.

~i may not see my neighbors again until next june. once the car is parked, it is a quick sprint to get the kids and stuff in the house. asap.

~rainboots are lots of fun to wear. and i don't feel silly when it's more than just a fashion statement; it's a necessity!

~i may have more productive days, thanks to this weather. strangely enough, when you're cooped up in the house, there are plenty of hours to play with the kids AND work on projects/cleaning/etc.

~forget that productivity statement. let's face it: when it's cold and dreary out, i want to wear loungy pants, my husband's hoodies, and turn on movies. oh, and bake. yeah, good thing we joined the Y. otherwise, you might have to roll me back to south carolina! just kidding.

that's probably a good start to rainy season thoughts. we'll see how we're floating come april!
