here's to summer and no soda miscellany monday

happy Monday and happy July!

{strange, but good} so, it's July and here in the PNW apparently that means the temperature is steadily creeping up into the 70's! it's a little weird that i can finally pull out some "summer" clothes now that it's July, but i'm not complaining. there's practically zero humidity here so it's a fabulous trade-off. i hear it's in the 100's back home...that's about the only thing i don't miss from sunny SC!

{me and bobby} you know you watch too much food network when Bobby Flay shows up in your dreams, ha! actually, i hardly watch any food network these days, but sure enough, Bobby and i had a conversation in my dream and i actually told him about Jesus and shared the Gospel with him! (side note: i have no clue what Bobby's religious beliefs are and i have no clue what prompted this dream; i hope he believes in Christ and my bizarre dream is all just silliness).

{broken record} you've heard it here before, folks, but this girl is not drinking soda for the month of July! here's to a new challenge, no soda, and the celebration of freedom in this area of my life!

{speaking of freedom} happy 4th to you! i hope your Independence Day is full of fun times with family and friends as we celebrate America's freedom! i am thankful for the freedom we enjoy and thankful for all those that have made it possible!

{dinner guests} what are the chances that where we are currently stationed is only about an hour from where my brother and sister-in-law are spending the summer?! we were thrilled to find out we would be so close for a few months, as we have been 6+ states away for the last several years! over the weekend, we had uncle david and aunt maritza over for dinner. we had a great time hanging out and i'm so glad the boys were able to spend some time with extended family!

{matchy, matchy} ok, so i don't exactly dress the boys in matching attire BUT i have noticed that i enjoy coordinating their outfits. i never saw this coming. the majority of what they both wear is hand-me-downs, but somehow, i have managed to dress them similarly on just a few occasions (i.e. camo, seersucker, plaid shirts, etc.). here's sunday's church outfits:

ethan wasn't too thrilled about having his picture taken, can you tell?

...and just one more picture of my two favorite little guys!
