miscellany monday...for real

I am guilty of making my "miscellany Monday" posts not so miscellaneous...I mean, if i'm just recapping the weekend, then I should call it "my weekend update" or something less clever. today, I will attempt true randomness. this should not be a problem, and if you know me well, you would agree.

1. I finally found the best way to be super productive in your house. are you ready for it? make a list of things you need to do, and be sure to include at least one, if not two, things that are way more pressing. for example:

-fold laundry
-wash sheets
-make dinner
-study for your physician assistant national certification exam that will determine if you can practice medicine again one day in the future once your kids are grown up
-sweep porch
-empty trash

guaranteed, you will have a super clean house and may even find yourself vacuuming the couch cushions (not on list). am I good or what? you're welcome.

2. I started wearing Tom's deodorant, oh, a few years back. I like it a lot. and especially like the fact that i'm not rubbing aluminum on my armpits every day, since that sounds super awesome. they have two flavors (are they called flavors? scents? varieties, yes, we'll go with that) and I always choose the apricot. well, this last time, I opted for something different and since I like lemon things (as in desserts...yum), I thought refreshing lemongrass would be a good idea. it is-- if you don't mind walking around smelling like you just poured lemon pledge all over you. next time, i'll stick to just eating lemon desserts.

3. last week, I held an itty-bitty 8-lb baby girl at MOPS. that night, at community group, I held an 18-lb not-quite-four-month-old. it was like extreme baby day. both were really sweet.

4. I love watching my boys be brothers. ethan has totally taken up his "big brother" role in wanting levi to be happy and will go to great lengths to cheer him up-- sing songs, make silly faces, hand him toys. levi watches his big brother in amazement, as if he is memorizing all his actions, only to mimic later (for better or for worse). they hug each other and give each other kisses. i pray this bond continues and they will always have a sweet and special friendship that only siblinghood (a word?) can bring.

5. I did something pretty unheard of recently. I wrote a letter. not a thank-you card, not a note, it wasn't electronic. an actual letter. on real stationery. with a stamp. I had to explain to my son what I was doing.

6. we eat a gazillion bananas in our house every week. maybe not a gazillion, but at least 4-5 a day. I buy two bunches (one ripe, one getting there) every time I go to the store, and I still have to make special trips to the store for milk and bananas.

7. i'm 25 weeks pregnant! little girl, we will be meeting you in just over THREE months!
