do you see what i see?

not to worry, readers. this is not an early yuletide post. although i am extremely excited about upcoming holidays, no digression here.

this post is about the my glasses that once used to be. it's a sad story, really, but with a funny ending. just thought i would share.

if you have a toddler, you know how it is nearly impossible to baby-proof everything. inevitably, there will be something you leave out, something you miss, something that doesn't get put away in time. that would be my glasses. and my toddler.

i found my glasses on the ground, in two pieces. so sad.

no problem, right? take them to be fixed! well, i did just that. i took them to the place where i purchased them and they guaranteed a fix. perfect. i go back the next day to pick up my better-than-new glasses. they look about right...

but, wait. let's take a closer look...

the "new" earpiece isn't even the same color as the rest of the glasses!

....and they look a little crooked. just a little.

the glasses don't fit right at all. i can't imagine why?!?! (note sarcasm). turns out, they put a used earpiece on to replace the one that was broken. the lady at the store can't get them to straighten to fit my face, but says, "at least you can wear them". i almost respond with, "where? where in the world am i supposed to wear these?", as i am trying them on and they are visibly crooked!

long story short, they had the same frames that i had purchased before, in a different color, so we just fitted my lens into these new (really new, not just new to me) frames. i was pleased in the end, but laughingly appalled that this employee thought there was nothing wrong with the "fixed" frames. really?

new glasses. sweet boy.
