creepy

it's that time of year, i suppose. i love this time of year for so many reasons, as i have mentioned before-- the weather, fall foods, pumpkins, the buildup to christmas...the list goes on. unfortunately, we have to get through halloween first. some of you may love the day, but i can say with almost 100% confidence that it's my least favorite. i don't do scary. the only redeeming factor is dressing kids up in cute costumes. around halloween time i am thankful i don't have cable, so i don't have to see commercials for scary movies and halloween specials on tv. when going for walks and runs, i look away when i see the gross decorations that people put out. anyway, enough about my halloween dislikes. in honor of the creepy holiday that is just around the corner, here is a bit of creepy that i experienced lately....

see the spider, seemingly in mid-air? yep, it's real. last week, i was hanging out at my parents' house. i was pushing ethan on their swingset, when i happened to look up and see the creepiest, largest spider i have ever seen in my life. my parents' house backs right up to the woods, so there is all kind of wildlife and creepy crawly things around. just in case the spider with the dark sky backdrop isn't enough to creep you out, here's an up-close shot of the underside of this guy, may he rest in peace.

eeewww!!!

  1. Agreeing completely with you. I think it's just gotten creepier than when my oldest kids were little. In fact, many of my kids tell me they don't like Halloween. My oldest daughter says it kind of puts a damper on October.

    Cool spider picture. That's amazing!
