my first cake!

a good friend and i are taking a cake decorating class at Michael's arts and crafts store. i don't plan on opening a bakery, by any means, but would love to learn how to decorate cakes for holidays, parties, children's birthdays, etc. it is so fun! definitely a creative outlet for this left-sided brain user!

our first assignment was to bake then decorate a cake in one of three ways-- a cupcake, a fish, or a hamburger. the fish was adorable, so the decision was easy! the cake decorating, on the other hand, was not! i found myself running out of time in class as i hurredly iced and decorated. my fish looked pathetic and would have never survived! i decided to make classwork "homework" and brought the little fish home to complete. this isn't perfect, but it was a lot of fun!
