a little bit of everything monday
{my little boy}
this little guy. i love him to pieces. just as he is learning new things every day, i am learning more about him. his personality. his humor. his seriousness. his sweet spirit. his imagination. his preferences. his independence. his dependence. his heart. he's so special to me and i am incredibly thankful for him.
{got ulu?}
i am now the proud owner of an authentic Alaskan ulu knife. never heard of it? according to wikipedia, the ulu knife has been around for thousands of years, used for everything from skinning animals to cutting kid's hair. don't worry, i'll stick to chopping nuts with mine. the round-bottom cutting board makes chopping incredibly easy and the rounded blade is the perfect design for quick cutting. definitely recommend it as my new favorite kitchen gadget.
{elephants, please}
this book is a childhood favorite of mine. i found it online so that our kids can share the joy of this story too. already, i have read it at least once a day to ethan. he loves it as much as i do. you can't help but love the story of Grandma Tildy and the persistent pet man and all the animals and how they help Grandma...get it, you and your little one(s) will love it too!
{ulta madness}
this place gets me. they send me coupons in the mail, beckoning me to come see all the glamour and girly-ness of makeup, hair accessories, and nail polish. sometimes i can't resist. i told my husband that with another boy on the way, i am going to have to be extra girly to make up for the lack of estrogen in our house. i'd like to think that ulta is helping me out towards that goal.
{on a mission}
i just started the book, The Mission of Motherhood, by Sally Clarkson. do you ever start a book and, not even a few chapters in, already make plans to re-read it soon? that's me with this one. Mrs. Clarkson, with great detail and passion, lays out the God-given mission of mothers provided in Scripture in raising their children. i firmly believe that the Bible is the source of all wisdom and i am thankful for the men and women who obey God's call on their lives to share practical application of Godly wisdom in various areas of life. this book has brought conviction in my parenting as well as my personal relationship with Christ and has encouraged me in numerous ways in how i relate to our children.
{wa-wa}
sweet 17-month-old, playing with his toys in the bath. (just had to put another picture of my favorite little boy named ethan).
linking up with the lovely carissa today
that first picture of ethan is a spitting image of brian! wow! your new knife sounds pretty cool/fancy. i need to read that book! i have heard such good things about it.
