catching up

mama and son, together again!

today is a catching up kind of day. one that ethan and i were in desperate need of.

i have missed the last five days with my sweet boy! not to worry, he has been loved on, played with, catered to, rocked, fed, and spoiled during that time by my oh-so-sweet parents! now it's time to get back to being home and our normal schedule again, something i think he and i both missed while we were apart from each other.

so, today, we caught up on...


naps.
hugs and kisses.
housework (vacuuming is a favorite of ethan's).
crying fits (his, not mine. thankfully.).
reading stories together.
playing outside.
throwing food off our tray (still?!?!).
playing inside.
exercise (today, a leisurely walk).
more hugs and kisses.

ethan was extremely cuddly today, partly because i know he missed me terribly (or at least that's what i tell myself) and partly because i think he's a little under the weather. poor boy. i am praying that tomorrow he wakes up refreshed and energetic (and a little later than usual...hey, a mom can pray big, can't she?!?!) and completely back to his normal self!

one highlight of the day was asking ethan where mama's baby is...he pointed to my belly! he's going to be such a terrific big brother!

at the very end of our walk, ethan began another crying fit. i stopped and faced him and starting singing (as i often do when i'm teasing him), "all the babies on the bus, cry 'wa, wa, wa'!". this was the smile that spread across his face in response. works every time.
