east coast surprise visit
I love surprises.
I love pulling off a good surprise for someone else, be it a gift, a note, or a visit!
Evelyn and I just pulled off a pretty good surprise, with the help of my family. my younger sister just graduated college in SC and me and the little miss flew in for a long weekend visit to celebrate. I am super impressed that no one spilled the beans, as it was much harder for SC family to keep the secret than for me since they saw my sister often!
we had a fabulous visit. it was quick and busy, but we packed a lot in!
my grandparents, aunt, and cousin were there for the graduation festivities, in addition to my older sister and her three kids. we had a full house-- lots of hanging out, eating, and having fun. my husband's mom and sister flew/drove in for the weekend to visit, too, so we had lots of fun family time! I thought for sure I wouldn't even get to hold evelyn the entire weekend with so much family around, but she has been a bit of a mama's girl lately, so we had plenty of time together. by the end of our visit, though, she had warmed up to everyone, especially my older sister and mom!
the flights went well, with the added bonus of an extra seat to put Evelyn's car seat next to me! anyone traveling with littles knows what a blessing this is! she did really great and even slept during each of our flights. she definitely won over all of our neighboring passengers with her sweetness. and, with a three-hour layover in Chicago, yay for USO's!
it's a long way home, but such a treat to visit family and friends! and get my hair cut by my favorite hairdresser. ;)
