well, friends, we are here! our new home, that is, and we are anything but settled. however, the transition has been smooth, the kids are intact, the sites are gorgeous, and God is good!
happy monday to you!
1. bye bye, beard! as mentioned before, no hair allowed
(other than the not-so-desired-by-wife 'stache!) on the faces of our military men. after three weeks of growth of a fine-lookin' beard, my husband shaved it off. it was a little scratchy, but i am sad to see it go! my baby-faced husband is back and no more beard for another 13 years or so?!?! or at least until the next move...

first Washington date night. a super cute cafe right down the street from our new house...how fun is that?! |
2. welcome to greenland! ok, so you have your weekly trash pickup, right? maybe, if you're lucky, someone comes by to pick up your recycling container. well, here, you get a trash can (the smallest of the three), a recycling can, and a compost can-- what?!?! i know what trash is, have been recycling for a few years now, but will be learning more about this composting thing soon enough!

this was my to-go container from said date night |
3. new house! we found one and it is oh so cute! three packed days of searching houses on the internet (
thanks to my husband for his diligence and organization), then driving by these potential homes, requesting a showing of the houses we thought we might like, and then attending these appointments to find the house that is right for us!
much thanks to my sweet mom, who flew with me and the littles out here and stayed an extra week while my husband and i are did the mad house hunt! it was an incredible blessing to be able to pick up and go and not worry about our toddler and working around his schedule while trying to find a house. finally, we found the house that we really like, that has all the must-haves and even a few "it-would-be-nice-to-have" qualities. the house is situated in the cutest neighborhood, is only a few short paces from a gorgeous view of the water, and is outstandingly updated considering it was built in 1921! we love it and are excited to move in soon!

4. sweet boys! it is a gigantic understatement to say that our boys are troopers! we have had such a crazy few months and they are doing great! i am amazed daily at how big they are getting and i decided early on in this adventure to
enjoy them despite how hectic things might become. we have had a wonderful time exploring this new place!
