things that make me smile today

1. this little guy. despite the hard days, this sweet boy fills my heart with so much joy!

2. special delivery from my oh-so-sweet husband!


3. brand-new morning sky after a stormy night


4. a picture calendar that not only reminds me what day it is but also displays the cuteness of our little man!

5. my favorite christian fiction author right now: Lynn Austin. i stumbled upon her books a few years ago and i am almost positive i have read every single one. her stories draw me in as she creates a detailed plot around historical events.

6. call me crazy, but i'm actually excited to pull these maternity clothes out of the attic and start wearing them! i know it will be a few more months, but i'm excited nonetheless!

7. it's Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-a! just throw on your favorite cow costume and you get a free meal! i love chick-fil-a-- the company, the food, etc...and i'll do a lot for a free meal from there-- just ask me about the campouts! here are mine and ethan's outfits, fully detailed to the "cow ear" headbands!

8. i am way into smoothies these days. it's one of the few things that tastes good these days and it's a healthy alternative to the junk i could be eating. my favorite flavor now is pineapple, banana, and peach. or pineapple, banana, and raspberries. well, all of them, really! ethan LOVES smoothies too. i sneak spinach leaves into his so he is getting some extra nutrition. shhh....don't tell!

9. while we're on the subject of food...my husband's parents introduced me to this amazing ice cream flavor. think the goodness of mint chocolate chip times one thousand! i don't know if i should thank them or be upset with them!
