miscellany everyday

I've been known to be a bit random. tastefully so, i'd like to think. let's just say, in our family, men are definitely waffles and women are definitely spaghetti. who doesn't like pasta?

here are my current not-so-deep thoughts...

1) in the story of the demon-possessed man in matthew 8, Jesus mercifully casts out the demons and sends them into a herd of (two thousand!) pigs. the pigs jump off the cliff and the demon-possessed man gets some clothes on and is the newest member of Jesus' fan club. my question is (and I've wondered this for some years)...where did all the demons go? I mean, they are spiritual beings, so they didn't drown with the pigs. just curious. my best guess is they went back to hell. but, if any of you have any spiritual insight, feel free to pass it on.

2) today was a whirlwind. I am highly idealistic (a recent self-discovery, thanks to a silly personality test and an insightful sister-in-law), so I thought the gym, grocery shopping, AND lunch with daddy at work would be a good way to pass the time. it ended up with daddy eating pizza in the car with three kiddos while I ran a mad dash through the commissary. and it all worked out. (what most idealists get to say, only perpetuating our idealism).

3) hormones. lovely little boogers. currently, my face looks like i'm in 10th grade and my hair is falling out. the only sweet post-pregnancy consolation (other than my adorable 3 and a half month old) is that I can finally fit into (most of) my pre-pregnancy jeans. yee-haw!

4) I have a strange aversion to drinking the last sip of coffee from my coffee mug. and I can't quite figure out why. I simply cannot do it.

5) i'm not super emotional. which is super handy, considering I am a military wife with three little kids. but lately, I've realized that I miss reminiscing. I l.o.v.e. being with my husband and munchkins. but it's almost like I need a weekend with all of my favorite people who represent all different parts of my life and just reminisce. laugh about the quirky. remember the awkward. relive the fun. soak in the good ol' days. I think it's good for our soul, to be taken back and allow those memories to remind us of why we turned out the way we did and appreciate our families, our friends, all the relationships that make life so full.

6) Christmas music has been playing non-stop in my house today. life is short. play Christmas music.

thanks for reading. you guys are great. all 4 of you. ;)
