miscellany march-style

it has been an exciting few weeks for our family, to say the least! we found out we are having a baby girl, celebrated five years of being mr. and mrs., and have had houseguests come and go!

what else has march brought, other than some warmer temperatures?

Easter week! what an exciting time for followers of Jesus, as we celebrate Christ's death and triumph over sin, and His victorious rising from the grave! it is super fun to teach our almost-three-year-old about what Easter means. I know he doesn't completely "get" it, but he gets so much, i'm amazed! i'll hear him playing around the house, singing loudly songs that Jesus is alive! he'll ask questions, sometimes repeatedly, and I can see him solidifying these truths in his little mind and heart. love it. it's also fun to enjoy the season of spring with some pinterest fun! we have made some cute projects that have turned out really well.

citizens. our local church has several bands among the fourteen campuses. one of the bands just released their first album, available on cd and iTunes. a mixture of re-done hymns and newly written songs, done indie-rock style, this cd might be a little different than you're used to for a worship cd (or not), but it is truly Gospel-centered. apparently, one criticism from some radio stations was that the cd is "too vertical". I found this to be a huge compliment to the band and I don't know about you, but I think Christian music could use a few more songs about Jesus and less about us!

snowshoeing. brrr, cold, but what a fun adventure! while my younger sis was here, we went snowshoeing, both of us for the first time! snow was falling and it was freezing temps, but we had a great time tromping through the woods!

bowling fun. what better way to enjoy time together as a couple than bowling?! my husband and I were planning an anniversary night-- he had an array of fabulous ideas including everything from an opera to a pottery class! (I opted for the pottery class, but it ended up being full). I finally decided that I wanted a low-key, comfy-clothes date where we could hang out, talk, and have fun together! we went to our local favorite pizza place, bowled three games (of which I won the first and came really close to winning the second-- a very unusual occurrence), and then ate some frozen yogurt together, discussing fun things like travel and kids and family. we had a great time. i'm so thankful for five years with my best friend.

twenty-one weeks! seriously. third pregnancy. these weeks are flying by! as excited as I am to meet this little girl, I am in major "wow, there is so much to do before august" mode! probably because I realize that I won't be getting organization and projects done after august. at least for like 6 months!

twenty-one weeks (notice tiny handprints on mirror over my calf, haha! the boys love this mirror!)
