our christmas letter
Family and friends,
As 2010 comes to a close, I want to take time to think through all the changes the year has brought. I started the year pregnant, working full-time, and preparing for our baby’s arrival. We have experienced at least one hundred changes in what we expected for Brian in his work, as many of you in the Air Force can relate! We have celebrated the joys around us of babies being born, good reports medically, and employment opportunities; we have also shared in the sadness of loved ones passing away, unwanted diagnoses, and hard economic times. Is life more difficult now or are we simply more aware of the struggles around us now that we are “grown up”?
These reflections lead me to realize more than ever that one thing never changes: God. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. This overwhelms me. Nothing or no one in this world can make that claim, but our Father in Heaven, dwelling in us, is forever faithful. Praise the Lord for sending His Son into the world to save us from ourselves, to redeem our lives from the pit, and to transform us into His glory! We rejoice at Christmas because Christ’s birth gives us hope. Because Jesus came to earth, lived, died, and was raised from the dead, we can have joy and peace.
Brian and I are so grateful. We have a healthy, busy, adorable little boy! Ethan has blessed our lives this year in more ways than we ever could have imagined! We are thankful for the sweet blessing of family and friends, for our local church that teaches the Truth of God’s Word; we are appreciative of life, health, provision, and a Sovereign God who is in control of all these things.
We want to wish you a very Merry Christmas!
joy and peace,
Brian, Amanda, and Ethan Thomasson
