I feel like I am constantly amazed at how quickly the days and weeks go by. I don't even wish them away, but somehow, they manage to go by at a break-necking pace (dr. suess, anyone?). it's almost july.
1. over the weekend, some good friends and I had planned for a girl's day. a real treat for us, as it isn't often we sneak away for girl time while our sweet husbands watch our collective SIX boys. the girls surprised me with a baby shower of sorts at a tea room. ok, if you have never been to a tea room, you must go. it sounds super girly and, well, maybe it is, but it is super fun! we drank tea in beautiful tea cups, ate a ginormous amount of delicious food, and chatted the afternoon away. it was wonderful. and our sweet baby girl added some adorable clothes to her growing wardrobe. I am so thankful for these wonderful women and their generous hearts, their excitement over the joyful changes in each of our lives, and the beauty of Christ poured through each of them in unique ways.

2. my husband and I have each driven our current cars for over ten years. they have gotten us through numerous life changes, including a cross-country move and two babies! unfortunately, car seats aren't getting any smaller and we are literally out of room for our growing family as baby #3 will make her appearance sometime in the next SIX weeks! this weekend, we became the proud owners of a minvan. hey, practical! hey, sliding doors that automatically open and it won't matter how close the car beside me is parked (I've been driving my husband's truck for three years). hey, I can put my kids, double stroller AND groceries in the car all at the same time! I feel completely spoiled and extremely blessed!

3. these boys love their daddy. and I love watching it. our oldest spent the better part of yesterday morning playing "fireman" with daddy, as he rescued his stuffed animals repeatedly. our little(r) guy toddles around, joining in the fun wherever he can, shouting "dad-EE" over and over. and, soon, my husband will be a "dad-ee" to a little girl-- it's almost too much.

4. with my husband on a work trip and six-ish weeks left til our family of four becomes a family of five, I feel like these next few weeks are my last hurrah with my boys. I am hoping for enough energy to have some real fun and spend as much time as I can playing and laughing with these guys. strawberry picking, a zoo trip, and lots of playground time are on the agenda. these two are truly a joy.

5. and, oh my word, could little girl clothes and accessories be any cuter? I picked up a few things (and got some amazing deals) for our little miss last week. my husband's comment during the fashion show? "I don't think we're ready for bathing suits". haha.

| these were $3 and will match quite a few of her outfits so far! |
