walk like an egyptian

so, my husband recently went on a trip to Egypt. his flight left mid-day, and my sister-in-law happened to come into town that morning, so i was able to take him to the airport without taking both kiddos (a rare occasion). given this opportunity, we decided to grab lunch on the way to the airport. as most things do, this quick lunch took longer than expected and before we knew it, i dropped him off at the airport with only an hour to spare before flying out internationally. woops. amazingly enough, he made his flight! only his luggage didn't...

how many times while packing for a trip have i thought, "well, if i forget something, there's always a wal-mart". not so much in the middle east. said luggage did not arrive with my husband at his final destination and the reason for the trip involved wearing a suit! not something you just "pick up" at the local store. or, maybe you do...

my cute husband had to go suit-shopping in Egypt! with language barriers, currency differences, and not a lot of time, he managed to find a very handsome suit (well, he makes it handsome) and all of the other necessities for this trip. i was a little nervous about what this Egyptian suit would look like, but turns out, it is super trendy and looks great on him! i begged him to send me a picture and this (below) is what i got!

oh, and in case you are wondering...his luggage finally arrived, about five days into the trip! AND, on his way home, his flight out of country was canceled, his name wasn't on the confirmation list for the newly scheduled flight (which he found out as he showed up the morning of the flight to check in!), his connecting flight arrived late and he still had to go through two security checkpoints and customs plus got pulled aside TWICE for additional security checks, but he still managed to get on his flight home! talk about the trip of all trips! this nine-day trip felt like three weeks! i am glad to have him home, new clothes and all!

on a side note, it is my sweet husband's birthday tomorrow (how old are you going to be, babe? wink, wink), so HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the love of my life! i am incredibly thankful for, proud of, and in love with this amazing man who i am blessed to call my husband and my babies' daddy! to celebrate, we are going out on a much-needed date...i may just ask him to wear his new suit!

how cute is he?!?!

he has good taste, doesn't he?
