a new start

Don't let anyone fool you-- moving is hard. It's a lot of work, it's expensive, it's sad, it's exciting, it's full of many emotions that take time to work themselves out and process.
It's also refreshing. There is always a touch of excitement when you have a fresh start, a new beginning. And moving is just that. The kind of change where you can re-evaluate life, think through your "old" way of doing things, and hit reset. Maybe decide you're going to take up a new hobby, or tackle a project that you have been scared too busy to do before.

We have just moved-- one month in a new town, a new state, a new beginning. The past year was almost a blur, as we hardly had time to get settled before we were packing boxes again! But now, now we start again. This time hopefully for a bit longer! And as we take in the new, we hit reset and re-evaluate and go again. Or maybe it's just me. I'm slightly nerdy when it comes to all of this "change". ;)

Part of this has led me to blogging again. Our fourth baby will be born in less than two months and I am reminded how quickly these years are passing. While it is an incredible joy to watch these little lives grow and change in front of my eyes, I want to soak up all that makes these years amazing, albeit insane. I love looking back and seeing the pictures, the FB posts, the instagram documentation. But I miss blogging! I miss writing, journaling, processing what is going on-- on a surface level, but also on a deeper level, as God has used these years in a way to refine me that no decade of my life can compare. I hope to look back and be reminded of this purging of myself and see God's glory during this time of life that is so hard, but so wonderful. And i want to remember the little things. The fun ways my kids are changing and the people they are becoming. I think I'll remember, but I know myself and my diminishing brain and it ain't gonna happen!

So I write.

Join me as I write about the mundane, the silly antics of three-almost-four little people, the lessons I am learning, our adventures in the Midwest and wherever we are headed next, and whatever else comes up in between!
