evelyn claire {six months}

Evelyn Claire, you are six months old! you really are the sweetest baby girl. a joy every single day. you have the most precious smile that lights up your entire face and brings a smile to this mama every time I see it!

your big brothers {still} love you! they both have a special bond with you and give kisses, talk to you in their sweet voice, and ensure you have plenty of toys for entertainment. Levi was found reading you a book and telling you to "duk, eh-eh-en!" (look, evelyn!). ethan has a special voice he uses when he's talking to you, calling you a "sweet gwurl" and trying his best to get a smile or laugh from you. I love how they treat you like such a princess.

you are growing well, but still a dainty girl. you are long and lean, and remind me of your biggest brother ethan when he was a baby. you were 50th percentile for weight, 57th for height, and 90th for head at your 6-month checkup. you weighed in at 16 lbs 7 oz and were 26 inches long. you are still in 6 month clothing and size 2 diaper, but any day now I think I will move you up to the 9 month wardrobe. :)

you roll over both ways like a champ. this started sometime between 5 and 6 months. you can sit, but not for long unsupported, just seconds at a time, but we are working on it. you love to reach and grab the toys you are aiming for. your playtime usually consists of rolling all over the living room, finding new toys that are lying around. you can "stand" on your legs and love, love, love to wiggle. as soon as I walk in to get you up from your bed, I know you have seen me when you light up with a smile and start to move and dance around with your entire body. you're such a cutie!

you don't babble very much, but you "talk" with baby grunts and sometimes you like to squeal to make sure we know you're there. you welcome attention from anyone who will talk and smile at you, but you have a special love for your daddy. I love the way you flirtatiously smile at him. you are his little princess! you love to be sung to and read to. basically, you just love attention. you would rather smile at mommy than eat. such a girl!

you are a good sleeper still. most nights, you sleep all night long. a tiny cold messed that up temporarily, but you still do a great job. you usually take two good naps a day. you are also teething and want to eat your hand/toys constantly. no sign of any teeth yet! you are nursing great (5-6 times/day) as long as you aren't too distracted and have started eating solids as well. so far, you are enjoying squash, sweet potatoes, peas, applesauce, bananas, blueberries, etc. you're a really good eater!

we love you so much, evelyn! you are a delight and we are so thankful for you!
