there once was a blogger named Amanda...

so, i went MIA in blogosphere world for a little while. life has been busy! sometimes i just forget to blog-- i enjoy keeping up with friends' blogs, but when it comes to writing mine, i have one million ideas but never actually get around to writing them! i remember when i first became a "facebooker"-- i would subconsciously think up various facebook statuses throughout the day (and, of course, never actually post them)-- am i alone here? well, it's the same with my blog. i will think of things to write about-- some serious, some silly-- but never take the time to sit down and type. how sad.

here are some recent ideas that i may be posting about in the near future...
  • what i've been reading. i am the kind of reader who always has a few books going. i was delighted to find that i can still read as a mommy (who knew nursing would allow the opportunity?). currently, i am reading "The Prodigal God" by Timothy Keller. i haven't even finished it and i already recommend it. more on this later. i also started the book "Blink" by Malcolm Gladwell. i have only barely started this one, but i think it will be a fun and different book than i usually read. and, of course, there are the baby books! i am often refererring to "Babywise" and it's sequel, "Babywise: Book Two". not a thrilling read, but informative and very helpful for this new mama!
  • ethan. there are always pictures to post and smiles to see when it comes to our sweet adorable boy!
  • transitions. i have been thinking about transitions lately and how God is so gracious to give them. if i have time, i'll think about this more and maybe come up with something worthy of reading concerning the topic.
  • traditions. i won't give this one away, because i really think i will post it, but family traditions are sweet to remember and sweet to begin with a new family!
  • i was thinking of starting a weekly blog post...i've been trying to think of a cute title, something catchy but not corny that will allow some freedom to write about various topics...i wonder what i will come up with?!?! p.s. any suggestions would be welcomed!
  • restaurant critique. my husband and i have set a goal to try one new restaurant a month in charleston until we move...we don't eat out a lot, so when we do, we eat at places we like. makes sense, right? well, it's a shame to live in charleston and not try some of the superb cuisine that our city has to offer. i thought it would be fun to have a monthly restaurant highlight, telling of our experience.

ok, that's it for now....no promises but hopefully more blogging is on its way!

  1. You have to try Mercato on Market - awesome Italian, and Sugar Bakeshop on Cannon. Both must try's before you leave Charleston!!! You won't be disappointed.

P.S. I just found your blog, and looking forward to reading. Can't wait to make those doughnuts! :)
