my 5-month-old nephew wesley has my sister's beautiful big eyes and olive-colored skin, and my brother-in-law's manly build and good looks, too. he is too cute!

i have spent the better part of a week with a sore throat--hoarseness--persistent cough. no fun! i finally got tired of sleepless nights and invested in some Robutussin cough syrup and Halls cough drops. so, when you're coughing up your lungs one at a time, nothing cheers you up like looking down and seeing that Halls has decided to print motivational quotations all over the wrapper. "Go for it!", "tough is your middle name", "you can do it!". "Pep talk in every drop", is their motto. my appreciation, Halls, i will now cough with additional gusto, knowing that you believe in me.

well, we finally did it. we took the plunge. my husband and i traded our normal, middle-of-the-road, only-used-for-talking phones in for the smart phone. so long, qwerty keyboard; hello touch screen. goodbye, only hearing the person on the other end of the line; hello facetime! see ya later, having to wait until i get home to check my email or look up something on the computer; hello, always-available internet! i have a feeling our lives may never be the same again.

happy Labor Day! thankful for this holiday weekend and the fact that the military observes the holiday, so that my amazing husband could travel to see us for a few days! we slept in (thanks to grandparents taking care of ethan), ran together (love running with my husband, even if my pregnant self slows him down!), went on a date to see the Help together (loved the movie, almost as much as the book), and just spent time together. note all the togetherness. :)
